- Vintage Bus Day
10th May 2026
Join us at Dereham Railway Station for a spectacular gathering of around 30 modern and vintage buses and coaches, showcasing the best of road transport heritage. From beautifully restored classics to more recent icons of the bus world, this is your chance to get up close to these remarkable vehicles, meet their owners, and soak up the nostalgia of bygone journeys.
?
But the day doesn't stop at the display - you'll also have the chance to ride aboard a selection of these wonderful buses completely FREE of charge! Special heritage bus services will be operating throughout the event, including:
Dereham to Hardingham - connecting with our train services for the ultimate heritage travel experience
Dereham to County School - a longer run giving you the feel of rural bus journeys of the past
Dereham-Yaxham circular route - a shorter local trip perfect for sampling vintage travel at its finest
??
Meanwhile, the Mid-Norfolk Railway will also be running its heritage train services, offering the perfect opportunity to combine the charm of classic rail travel with the excitement of vintage buses. Full details of train services will be announced closer to the event.
?
Please note that parking will not be available at Dereham Station due to the extensive vehicle display. Instead, we recommend using the Cherry Tree/Theatre Street Car Park (free long-stay) and hopping on our complimentary bus link to Dereham Station.* A small number of parking spaces will be reserved for blue badge holders, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
?
So gather the family, hop on board, and enjoy a full day of classic transport fun in the heart of Norfolk! Whether you're a bus enthusiast, a railway fan, or simply looking for a unique day out, Vintage Bus Day promises a wonderful mix of history, nostalgia, and hands-on experiences.
?
Admission to the bus display and rides is free - normal fares apply for train services.
?
We look forward to welcoming you aboard for this unmissable celebration of heritage travel!
