Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th May 2026
As part of their relaunch celebrations in May 2026, Fox & Edwards Events are teaming up with the Great Central Railway Nottingham to bring journeys behind the special guest locomotive LNER Peppercorn A1 60163 'Tornado'. Don't miss your chance to ride behind this celebrity locomotive from Ruddington which is appearing alongside the visit of the legendary 'Flying Scotsman'!
Step aboard at Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre's Ruddington Fields station for a return journey along the northern section of the Great Central Railway to Loughborough and back travelling through the pretty countryside route. Along the way, you'll experience the sights, sounds and atmosphere of riding behind this powerful guest locomotive.

Our tickets include a return journey behind 'Tornado' and entry to this exhibition.
Iconic locomotive 'Flying Scotsman' will be on display during this weekend and will be available at the station for ticket holders to have the opportunity of visiting the footplate too!
